Inktober

31 illustrations in 31 days

Inktober is a time when artists and illustrators everywhere participate in a global challenge: 31 illustrations in 31 days. In 2020, I took advantage of Inktober to further establish my illustration style. I used this time to refine my color palette, subject matter, line quality, and visual tone. Boy, did I have fun doing it! This extended exploration period was a catapult that led to opportunities of a lifetime (like illustrating my first children’s book A Mouse Tail on Mackinac Island). Though my style is ever-evolving, I’ve discovered a visual language that feels more authentic to me.
